Meet Dr. Neelima Prabha Dasari
A senior orthopedic veterinary doctor in Hyderabad, Dr. Neelima has been treating animals since qualifying in 2011. Her Ph.D. is in veterinary surgery and radiology: operating on animals, and reading the X-rays that show what's wrong inside. What happens at a consultation
The right treatment depends on the examination, the imaging, the species, and your pet's age and general health. That's why nobody, including us, can promise a treatment before seeing your animal.
Call or message first
Tell the clinic the species, age and what you've noticed. They'll tell you how soon your pet should be seen, and what to bring.
History and watching them move
Dr. Neelima will ask when it started and what has changed, then watch how your animal stands, walks or perches where that's safe.
A hands-on examination
She'll gently check bones, joints and muscles, and look for pain, swelling or instability. Some patients need calming or pain relief first.
Imaging if it's needed
X-rays or other tests may be advised to see what's happening inside. Bring any images or reports you already have.
A plan you understand
You'll hear what she has found, what the options are, what each involves, and what recovery at home would ask of you.

Is my pet's limp an emergency?
Contact a vet the same day if your pet won't put any weight on a leg, the leg looks bent or swollen, there was a fall or accident, you can see a wound or bone, or your pet is dragging its back legs. A mild limp that hasn't improved in a day or two, or keeps coming back, should be booked for a consultation. More on limping.
Do I need a referral from another vet?
No. You can call or WhatsApp N3 directly. If another vet has already seen your pet, bring their notes, X-rays and prescriptions. Second opinions and referrals.
How much does an X-ray or surgery cost?
It depends on your pet's size and species, what the examination finds, how many X-rays are needed, and whether surgery, implants or a hospital stay are involved. Dr. Neelima will explain the options and their costs before anything is done. Call the clinic for a guide to the consultation fee.
